15 Ways to Give Thanks

15 Ways to Give Thanks
| November 25, 2021

With Thanksgiving around the corner, we at the RAK Experience have been thinking a lot about what we are grateful for and brainstorming fun and creative ways to express our gratitude. Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs) are kind of our thing and there are so many RAKs you can do to tell somebody “Thank You”.

Showing gratitude is a proven way to make you feel happier, increase your self-esteem, improve your relationships, and all kinds of other really great things! It also makes the person you are thanking feel special and appreciated as well. We could all use more of that.

Whether it’s a teacher, a sibling, or a server at your favorite restaurant, here are 15 ways to give thanks this holiday season:

  1. Mail a handwritten note or thank you card to someone, or hand-deliver it!

  1. Shout them out on social media. Tell the world who you are grateful for and why.

  1. Bake them cookies or their favorite treat.

  1. Deliver flowers to them. A bouquet always brightens someone’s day.

  1. Give them a hug!

  1. Return the favor. If someone does you a favor, step in next time they need a hand.

  1. Take them out for a special dinner.

  1. Tip well, if you are grateful for wonderful service!

  1. Do something with them that they love to do whether it be fishing, going to a concert, or watching their favorite movie with them.

  1. Pay it forward to a loved one or stranger. If you have already told somebody “Thank You” take their kind gesture and pay it forward to somebody new.

  1. Toast to them at Thanksgiving dinner and let everyone know that you are grateful for something they have done for you or just because they are who they are.

  1. Write a poem letting them know what they mean to you.

  1. Get them a gift card for something that they use every day such as a coffee shop for a hard-working teacher or iTunes for the commuter.

  1. Simply be there and be present when you are around them.

  1. Send them a RAK Pak as a fun surprise.

Saying thank you and expressing your gratitude is an important practice for you and everyone around you. If you find yourself traveling around the world, we are going to send you off with how to say thank you in 10 different languages so you always know how to say “thanks!”.
